Bread and Butter

August 27, 2010

I forgot to stuff the butter before closing it. Whoops.

I really love felt food and this was a really fun set to make. The slices of bread were made to look as though they had been cut off the ends of the loaf. Love it!

Felt Breakfast for a King

I made this for the OWS on Craftster and am loving the way it turned it out. I have never done pancakes this way and I don’t think I will ever do them any other way after seeing how fluffy the look.

Felt Grocery Store in the Making

May 23, 2010

I bought a group of patterns from BuggaBugs on Etsy a long time ago. A few months before Christmas of 09. I started the really cute set that included a cash register, market basket, money, a wedge of cheese, and loaf of bread.

Then I got tired of it and stopped. I put the entire project away in a bright tub and even though I saw it a few times, couldn’t bring myself to dig it out and work on it. I am not really sure why I didn’t want to work on it, I just didn’t.

Silly me, the only part really left to work on took me less than 2 episodes of Cougar Town on Hulu to complete. I wrapped it up and gave it my daughter for her birthday.

Not all of the buttons on the cash register are sewed down.  I started using glue to hold them down and then realized this was a bad idea.  There is a reason we have a felt Graham Cracker box that is now labeled “ham” .  Little Man pulls the pieces off.

Almost good enough to eat

Remember all those tiny strawberries? Here is what they went to:

I made 7 sets of these!! It was a lot of work, but I really enjoyed it. My son and daughter absolutely love that the whipped cream is pose-able. I have more felt food and felt play sets in the works including my felt cash register and grocery set that is still a UFO.

Teeny Tiny Strawberries

January 30, 2010

I spent a good deal of the evening hand stitching these little felt strawberries. They were rather simple to make, but I think I should have made them larger. A last minute thought occurred to me as I stitched down the second to last stem on these berries. I should have made a quick tutorial. Whoops. Perhaps another time. I am not seeing any more tiy strawberries in the near future. LOL

They will eventually be apart of 7 sets of felt French Toast. I am making 4 for the Play Food Sweat Shop Breakfast Edition on Craftster, 1 for my kids, 1 for a personal swap, and 1 as a charity donation to a raffle. Pictures to come once I can bring myself to hand sew again 😀
